Engaging young children in philosophy offers many unique opportunities for their development as well as for expanding and diversifying the field of philosophy. This panel will discuss some of these opportunities and describe some current initiative taking place in K-12 schools around Philadelphia. Free and open to the public with reception to follow.

War in the 21st Century: What can it Accomplish?
Recent wars in in Ukraine, Iraq, and Afghanistan raise pressing questions for theorists of war and peace. How should the nature of modern warfare, and the global erosion of democratic norms, affect the way we theorize about the permissible aims of a just war?
